Course Description

This fast-paced one-day program helps participants identify Time Wasters in both their professional and personal lives and recognize what those Time Wasters cost.

The training incorporates video and group activities to reduce Time Wasters and develop a Time Saver’s action plan. Participants will laugh and learn as they observe and share many of the circumstances and situations that conspire to rob them of valuable time.

The program will also focus on an introduction to Outlook® and how to make it really work for them. The reality is that most people use Outlook® for email and calendars and stay “stuck in their Inbox and can’t get out”. Learn how to use Email, Calendars, Contacts, Notes and Tasks even more effectively to develop a comprehensive time management system and plan to rise to the Time Challenge.

Training Approach

The idea behind this type of session is to lead the participants to recognize their own issues with time management and for them to develop their own plans for overcoming those issues. This is done by using group activities that help identify a variety of challenges and solutions. The instructor uses some lecture to guide some of the solutions available and video to show situations that the participants might identify with. The final outcome should be each participant walking away from the session with an action plan and the skills to implement it.

The Training Includes:
  • General discussion on Time Management and various tools used for time management.
  • Introduction to Time Wasters and how to avoid them.
  • Planning, Prioritizing, and Setting SMART Goals
  • Managing personal energy, Handling drop in visitors, Managing Email, Overcoming Procrastination, and Crisis and Dealing with the Unexpected.
  • Balancing work with your personal life.
  • Working with Microsoft® Outlook® and other Time Management tools.
